Nailed it!

Scripture:Philippians 2:19-30
Summary: If joy flows from a Christ-centered life, what does that look like? Paul gives three examples of people in Philippians who we can model our lives after as we search for joy.
Main Thought: A Christ-centered life is characterized by unwavering devotion, selfless service, and relentless risk-taking.
Getting to Know Each Other (Start Here):
- Do you have people in your life that you look up to and have in some way modelled your life after? Who are they? Why do you consider them examples to follow?
Going Deeper:
- What do you know about Paul, Timothy and Epaphroditus?
- Does Paul model unwavering devotion? If so, how or why? If not, why?
- Does Timothy model selfless service? If so, how or why? If not, why?
- Does Epaphroditus model relentless risk-taking? If so, how or why? If not, why?
- How do you cultivate unwavering devotion in your life? What are some of the ways Jesus cultivated unwavering devotion to God?
- What does the phrase “selfless service” mean to you? If you serve somewhere, would you call your service selfless?
- Do you think that relentless risk-taking is a characteristic of a Christ-centered life? Why or why not? When it comes to your life are you a relentless risk-taker for Christ?
- What do unwavering devotion to God, selfless service of fellow believers, and relentless risk-taking to advance the Kingdom of God have to do with finding joy? What do the following verses say about the relationship between joy and these characteristics? Philippians 2:1-4, 1 Peter 1:8-9, Luke 15:7, Nehemiah 8:10, Philemon 1:7, Hebrews 12:1-3, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 14:21
Apply it:
- Which characteristic do you need to grow the most in? What will you do to grow in that characteristic?
