Spirit Empowered Mission: Holy Fire
Pastor David Hearn, February 3, 2019
Scripture: Acts 3 & 4
Main Thought: Without the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, we can do nothing.
Summary: Surrender to God and He will reveal Christ to you and fill you with his power.
Getting to Know Each Other (Start Here):
Have you ever experienced the Holy Fire of God? What does it look like in everyday situations in your life?
Going Deeper:
Pastor David identified three effects of Holy Fire in everyday people and places.
- When the fire of God falls, Holy Fire releases God’s supernatural power. Do you believe in supernatural things? Have you ever been healed, or has someone you know been healed? Have you experienced God’s fullness in your life? Take some time to share about your experience.
- When the fire of God falls, our hearts are revived. Times of refreshing come from the Lord and they are preceded with times of repentance. Have you ever gone through times of refreshing? Did you first go through a time of repentance? Before God could fill you, did you first need to release something in your life?
- When the fire of God falls, it revitalizes our mission to the nation. What are some of the ways that we will know revival has come to our church, Regina, and Canada? How will it be evident in our lives? Have you already experienced a revival in your life? What impact has it had in your life?
Apply it:
- Pastor David told a story about the bachelor who put all his dirty dishes in his oven when his friends came for an unexpected visit. But they brought a pizza that needed to be warmed up in the oven, so the bachelor was embarrassed as he cleaned out the dirty dishes. This represents debris cluttering our soul. What are the dirty dishes in your oven? What debris is cluttering your soul? Ask Holy Spirit to reveal those things that are cluttering your soul and to release you from them.
- This week, seek the fire of the Holy Spirit that you will realize God’s supernatural power, a revival in your heart, and a revitalized mission to reach others for Christ.
Pray without ceasing:
