Groups Curriculum – The Forgotten Spirit Series – Week of April 29

Sermon Discussion Guide

1.) Who is a person you know who is an example of Holy Spirit’s work on earth? Maybe they’ve been changed, freed from an addiction, or stepped out in faith in a new way. What did that look like?

2.) This week we heard testimony of how God can help us with our emotional reactions, like becoming a less angry person. Where in your life would you like Holy Spirit to speak into your emotions?

Read Galatians 5:16-26

3.) In this Galatian passage we see some of the things that we struggle with, sins of attitude and action that are in our lives. As we continue to read, we see how Holy Spirit can bring us to new actions and reactions and attitudes.
We all have things in our lives that we wish were different, wish we could be rid of.
Looking at your life, right now, what is your deepest prayer?

4.) When Jesus was tempted, he was empowered by Holy Spirit and equipped with Scripture to help him as he was tempted. Scripture is God’s gift to us to help us know him better, to know ourselves better, and to help us know what to do in difficult situations. Are there verses that have been meaningful to you in different points in your life? Share as a group some of these verses. Make note of them together to help you when you’re in difficult situations.
