Hebrews 2:1–4 – Why does all this matter?
- Have you ever lost something precious to you that slipped away and was lost forever because of your neglect? How did you feel about it?
- Hebrews 2:1 begins with a command. What is it? (Heb 3:1, 12:1-2, Prov 3:21)
- List some of the things in your life that you pay careful attention to. How does your attention to these things compare to the attention you pay to Jesus?
- How are you making provision to hear from Him when other things call for your attention?
- What are some good, godly sources that help you listen to and apply what you are taught from the Word?
- How would you define the word ‘drift’?
- Do we ever stand still in regards to our relationship with Jesus?
- What are the dangers of neglecting this great salvation?
- If we continue to drift away, how are we guiltier than the Old Testament people who disobeyed the word given through angels?
- Read Hebrews 1:2-4, verses declaring and celebrating God’s gift to the world in Jesus. Describe how Jesus is a greater revelation than the law and therefore requires a greater response from us.
- When have you recently acknowledged God before others? (Matt 10:32)
- What gifts has Holy Spirit given you and how are you using them to serve others?
- How has your relationship with God changed since the CREED series started?
