Group Discussion – We Believe the Son is God – Jan 30, 2022

  1. Can you recall a time when you lost the wonder and awe of who Jesus is?
  2. The book of Hebrews begins without any introduction or greetings. It simply states two key assumptions in the first few words – God is and God has spoken.
    1. Where else in Scripture do we see this same type of beginning to a book of the Bible? (Hint – think last week’s sermon!)
    2. How does God speak to all people? (Romans 1:18-23)
    3. List ‘various ways’ God spoke or revealed Himself in the Old Testament.
    4. How does God speak to you personally?
    5. What does it mean to you that God now has spoken supremely and finally through His Son? (Luke 9:35) What should you start doing because of this truth? What should you stop doing?
    6. In the light of the chaos we live in today, what impact should it have on our daily lives and choices that Jesus actually upholds everything by His power?
    7. Considering Jesus is the agent of creation, what situations (past or present) do you need Him to re-create/transform/redeem? Are you willing to commit these to His care and leadership?
    8. Jesus asked His disciples in Matthew 16:15, “Who do you say that I am?”. This is most important question we will ever answer in life.
      1. Is Jesus:
        1. Central to your entire life?
        2. The revelation of God to you?
        3. Your victorious King who has won every battle on your behalf?
        4. If not, what is holding you back from believing these truths?
