- Describe the most beautiful place on earth that you have been to. When you think of heaven, what do you think of? What or who has formed your understanding of heaven?
- Read Rev 21:1-8. What do these verses tell us about the new heaven and new earth? What stands out to you about this description here?
- Read Ps 63:1, Is 55:1 and John 4:14. What does it mean to be thirsty (v 6) and what is required to come to Jesus with our thirst?
- When you think of an “overcomer” (v 7), what qualities come to mind? Read Rev 12:11.
- Read 1 Cor 6:9-11. What is the significant difference between one who inherits all that God offers and one who experiences the second death (v 8)? Why do you think verse 8 is important to include in this description of such a beautiful place?
- S. Lewis once said, “If you read history, you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next”. How often do you think of heaven? How can your life better reflect the reality of heaven?
