Scripture: Revelation 2:12-17
Summary: You can either be an influence or you can be influenced.
Checking In (Focus Here):
Galatians 6:2 – Bear one another’s burdens: Ask each other how you are doing and listen to what is happening.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Encourage one another: Speak the hope of Christ to one another. Encourage each other.
Ephesians 6:18 – Pray for one another: Spend time praying for one another.
Going Deeper:
- Who has been an influencer for Jesus in your life?
- How has Jesus influenced your life past present and future?
- How has Jesus influenced how you view yourself and others?
- What power do we have in Jesus? whose power is it? who wields it?
- What are some of the undercurrent “Balaam” influences that are present in our culture? How do you think we the Church can resist them and follow Jesus’ influence?
- What words of truth, that Jesus spoke, cut you? (Are there things He says in scripture that are hard to live/follow?
- Do you see the dynamic of love and truth in Rev.2:12-17? How do they lead to influence and transformation?
Apply It:
What is happening in the world around you? Think about how Jesus would respond. How can you respond like Him?
