- In a word or phrase, describe how you approach God in prayer.
- Read Luke 11:5-8. Has God ever answered an audacious prayer that you prayed? How do you feel realizing that God wants you to ask for requests audaciously? Does that feel uncomfortable or not?
- Read Luke 11:9-10. What words reinforce the idea of tenacity? While the word “asking” is obvious, what do you think seeking and knocking look like when we apply them to our lives? Why is praying for something tenaciously not the same as demanding something from God? What keeps you from being tenacious in your prayer life? What comes to your mind when you imagine a group of Jesus’ followers praying boldly?
- Rate your prayer life. On a scale of 1-5, how honest are you? How audacious are you? How tenacious are you? What is one step can you take in the coming week to grow in one of these areas of prayer?
- Read Philippians 4:19. What kind of community is this story in Luke calling us to become for the sake of the world? What kind of things might change for our families/city/country if we were to pray with audaciousness and tenacity?
