If you could create one law that everyone in the entire world had to follow under punishment of death, what law would you choose?
Discuss
- Read Mark 12:28-35. What is the point of having dozens or hundreds of laws/commands if all of the laws and commands can be summed up by loving God and loving others? (see Matthew 22:40)
- What is the difference between ‘love’ as a noun, and ‘love’ as a verb? To love God completely is radical and costly. Can you think of some examples of the costliness of love that have inspired you to love more deeply?
- What is the love that God requires for us to have? How is it different than the world’s understanding of love? Give some examples of what it looks like to love God and love others the way God requires.
- Was there a time when you truly understood God’s love for you, which in turn impacted your love for God and others? If we all followed the instruction of Jesus in Mark 12:31, most of the world’s problems would be eradicated. What is one thing that hinders you from loving others? (see John 13:34-35) What step can you practically take to move beyond this and grow in your love for others?
- Have you ever thought of fasting as a way to grow in your love for God and others? What can you fast from as an act of love to God, and to others? Who could help you do this?

Lots of help will be needed for our all church BBQ on Sunday, June 2, after the service. If you can move tables, haul chairs, or work in the kitchen, email cam@mylivinghope.ca. Thanks!
Prayer
The District Executive Committee (DEXCOM) meets twice a year to give leadership to the 70+ churches of this district. As this group meets here in Regina this week, pray for deep wisdom and discernment for DS Bernie Van de Walle, Jan Ross, and the other members of DEXCOM.
Globally, pray for the Western Fulani, poor, illiterate animal herders in Western Africa. In some areas, young men travel hundreds of kilometres on foot every year, leading their cattle to pasture. The Fulani are hospitable people who practice folk Islam and their lives are guided by unwritten but extensive rules dictating all of life. Of the 1.2 million Fulani in Niger and 2.5 million around the world, only 0.01% are believers. Ask the Lord to deliver these people from these people from the bondage of their hollow spiritual practices. Pray they would cry out to the Lord so that the thirsty ground of their hearts would receive the Living Water. Pray that many would come to know Christ and sing His praises!
