Discussion:
- Read Luke 17:11-19. What is this verse saying? What stands out to you? What resonates with you?
- Would you put yourself with the nine who did not say thank you or with the one who did? Explain your answer.
- In what ways do you struggle with gratitude? What makes it challenging at times?
- Pastor Tim quoted a study that said developing a practice of gratitude lowers stress by 23% and increases a positive mood. If you were to develop a habit of gratitude, how do you anticipate it might change you? Why do you think the practice of gratitude has such a significant impact on a person’s mental health?
- Focus on each person in your group one-by-one, having the others share why they are grateful that person is in your small group.
Prayer:
- Take a moment to ask God what he wants you to be grateful for. Listen for what He says to you. Take a moment to ask God how you might build or improve your practice of gratitude. Again, listen.
