Group Discussion – March 23, 2025

Connect:

  1. Share a time you forgot to say ‘thank you’ and what happened in that situation.

Discussion:

  1. Read Luke 17:11-19. What is this verse saying? What stands out to you? What resonates with you?
  2. Would you put yourself with the nine who did not say thank you or with the one who did? Explain your answer.
  3. In what ways do you struggle with gratitude? What makes it challenging at times?
  4. Pastor Tim quoted a study that said developing a practice of gratitude lowers stress by 23% and increases a positive mood. If you were to develop a habit of gratitude, how do you anticipate it might change you? Why do you think the practice of gratitude has such a significant impact on a person’s mental health?
  5. Focus on each person in your group one-by-one, having the others share why they are grateful that person is in your small group.

Prayer:

  1. Take a moment to ask God what he wants you to be grateful for. Listen for what He says to you. Take a moment to ask God how you might build or improve your practice of gratitude. Again, listen.
  2. Popcorn prayer:
    1. What you are thankful for in regards to Jesus, his character and his love towards you.
    2. Things you are thankful for today.
    3. Any other prayer requests.
