Discussion:
- Share how and when you first came to Jesus. If it is hard for you to name a moment, tell the story of the many moments that led you to follow him.
- Often when we share our salvation testimonies, it creates an odd, unintended dichotomy that once you are saved, no more change is needed. But the reality is that we are always growing in the grace God has for us. As Dallas Willard says, “Christians use grace like a 747 uses fuel on take-off!” You don’t just need grace to become a believer, you need grace everyday as a believer. With this in mind, answer the next questions.
- Share a work of God’s grace in your life recently. Or another way of asking this would be, in what ways is God growing/teaching/maturing you?
- What area(s) of your life do you still struggle with being self-made as opposed to God-made? Another way to ask this is in what area(s) of your life do you struggle to allow God to form and shape you?
Prayer
- Who do you know that does not know or believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior? A friend, family member, co-worker, neighbor? Write these names down and pray for them. Pray for two things: 1. That God would reveal himself to them, and 2. That God would give you opportunity to have spiritual conversations with them.
Global Request
This year, Easter falls during the fasting month of Ramadan for the Muslim community. Pray that these people would have dreams and visions of Jesus, that Chrsitians (even you!) would be bold to share the change that Jesus had made in their lives, and that the hollow ritual of fasting would lead many to seek the real Truth found in Christ. Pray also for our International Workers living in Muslim countries to be a powerful and magnetic light for Jesus in this dark time.
