Sermon Discussion Guide
1.) Have you ever cooked something, or taken a bite of something, and quickly realized that an ingredient was missing?
Read Acts 19:1-7
2.) The Holy Spirit is a gift that Jesus has for you. The Holy Spirit is essential to becoming what Jesus envisions. What do you know about the Holy Spirit? What do you know about who the Holy Spirit is? Share with your group a time that you’ve experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life.
Read Galatians 5:19-23
3.) The Holy Spirit produces Christ-like character in you. As we read in Galatians, our lives testify to what is going on inside of us. As you have been seeking the Holy Spirit, what Fruit of the Spirit has been showing up in your life? Have you been challenged to grow in a particular area (ie: patience in a line-up)? How have you been able to grow in your relationship with God and with others?
Read 1 Corinthians 12:4-5
4.) The Holy Spirit enables us to fulfill our calling. Each of us has the general calling to glorify God, to witness, and to make disciples. For our specific calling, God has given each of us gifts to do specific things well. What gifts do you have and how do they help you to fulfill your calling? If you aren’t sure, spend some time asking God to reveal your specific calling and your gifts to you.

5.) Take some time as a group to pray for each other and our church that we will seek the filling of the Holy Spirit. Maybe there is someone who you know who is seeking a stronger, fuller relationship with Jesus and the filling of the Holy Spirit. Pray for that person, that they would experience the Holy Spirit in their life.
