An Open Door
Pastor Kirk, June 28th, 2020
Scripture: Rev. 3:7-13
Summary: Even in difficulties, Jesus is always opening a door to greater things.
Checking In (Focus Here):
Galatians 6:2 – Bear one another’s burdens: Ask each other how you are doing and listen to what is happening.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Encourage one another: Speak the hope of Christ to one another. Encourage each other.
Ephesians 6:18 – Pray for one another: Spend time praying for one another.
Going Deeper:
- Have you ever been locked out of your house or car before? Share the story.
- What doors has Jesus opened for everyone in the Family of God? (Examples: Prayer, salvation, forgiveness, eternal life, the right to be called children of God)
- What does it mean to you that Jesus “knows your deeds”? The truth that He sees you.
- Do you have experience with open doors of hope that lead to a deeper relationship with God and not to escaping trouble? What did God provide that you didn’t expect?
- What happens when you try to force open a door of opportunity that is closed? What does it feel like?
Apply It:
This week look for the Open Door that Jesus has opened for you. Remember to Stop and Seek. Read 1 Corinthians 2:9-16 you have the mind of Christ for looking at the world and making decisions because of Jesus work and the indwelling Holy Spirit.
