Scripture: Revelation 2:1-7
Summary: The Christ-centered life is marked by Christ-like love. So let your first response be love.
Checking In:
Galatians 6:2 – Bear one another’s burdens: Ask each other how you are doing and listen to what is happening.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Encourage one another: Speak the hope of Christ to one another. Encourage each other.
Ephesians 6:18 – Pray for one another: Spend time praying for one another.
Going Deeper:
- What do you think that Living Hope is known for in the wider community of Regina?
- Does this meet Jesus desire for what His followers are known for? (John 13:34-35)
- Read Revelation 2:1-7; what is the potential consequence for the church in Ephesus? What is the significance of it? What was the church doing right?
- Praxis is the place where belief, thought and behavior combine. So, what does it look like when thought and behavior are not combined with belief?
- Have you had someone tell you something that you did not want to hear? Maybe it was about Christianity or the church.
- What about when God tells you something you don’t want to hear? How do you respond and/or how do you work towards obedience in belief, thought and behavior?
Apply It:
Reflect: Look back on the last to months with social distancing. Are there any actions or thoughts that you need to submit to God?
Repent: Spend time reading Psalm 32 and repent of anything that you need to. Turn from it to a fuller view of God.
Redo: Return to Christ and His love. Let it be the goal of your repentance and redo what you did when you first began a relationship with Him.
