Everyday Rhythms
Share Your Story
Pastor Kirk, March 14, 2021
Read: Mark 5:18-20, John 4:39-42, Acts 22-28(v30-31), 1 Corinthians 2:1-5, Revelation 12:11
Big Idea: You bless people when you share your story of encountering Jesus.
Getting to Know Each Other (Start Here):
- What is your favorite fiction or historical story?
Going Deeper:
- What are stories that have shaped you? Are they books, bible stories or other people’s stories?
- Do you believe that people can change? The people in this account were scared and angry at the change in the man (Mark 5:1-20). Why do you think that is?
- When you see a display of Jesus’ power are you scared or inspired? Do you question or obey?
- How has Jesus transformed your story?
- Do you think that you have multiple stories?
- Are you afraid to tell your story because you’re afraid to share the ugliness of past sins?
- Does social media have a roll in sharing our stories with others? If so, how do we use it responsibly?
- Take a couple of minutes to think about your story. Maybe write out that 120 word version. Share your stories with one another. Practice in the comfort and safety of your community group.
- What do we do when someone rejects our story?
Apply it:
B.L.E.S.S. Journal
-
- Write BLESS down the left hand side
- Write out your story in the back of your journal
- Write in the final S spot who you could share your story with
Spend time praying for and with each other. (If you are comfortable allow moments of silence to linger to hear from God).
