Everyday Rhythms
Meant to Bless
Pastor Kirk, February 7, 2020
Read: Genesis 12:1-3 & Galatians 3:7-9
Big Idea: Jesus wants to bless the world through you. You are blessed to be a blessing.
Getting to Know Each Other (Start Here):
- How have you been blessed in the last month?
Going Deeper:
- What are the practices in your life (your rule of life) that help you experience the blessing of God and be the blessing of God to the people around you?
- How have you been blessing others recently?
- God calls the Israelites to bless the nation they are exiled from to in Jeremiah 29:4-11. How do we bless our neighborhood, city, and country even when we may feel “exiled”?
- When we pray “your kingdom come, your will be done”, how is bringing Gods kingdom to earth a blessing?
- Just as God called Abram to leave his people and culture for a new way of living, Jesus calls us to a new way of living. What new way of living has Jesus called you to? What is something old that you are leaving behind and what is the new that you are embracing?
- How can we recognize when our attitude becomes “bless me, bless me” without blessing others? What can we do to change those attitudes?
- What are you going to purposefully do this week to BLESS someone?
Apply it:
- Discern with God who the 7 people are that you can intentionally BLESS over the next 7 weeks. Write their names down in a journal or in your phone so you can keep track of how you BLESS them.
Spend time praying for and with each other. (If you are comfortable allow moments of silence to linger to hear from God).
