Do You Really Believe This?
Nothing Is Impossible

Pastor Colin, June 13, 2021

Read: Jeremiah 32:16-27

Big Idea: Believing that with God all things are possible opens the door to incredible possibilities. Nothing is impossible for God, what does this mean theologically and what does it mean practically.

Getting to Know Each Other (Start Here):

  • Do you have a favorite story about a person who did something that seemed impossible?

 Going Deeper:

  1. How are you doing with trusting God over the last year? Is there a certain area of life that you find it more difficult to?
  2. Read Matt 5:28-42 and Luke 3:10-14. What hard things did Jesus and John tell their disciples to do in the name of the kingdom? What do you think they would say to people today?
  3. Is what you’re facing right now impossible, or just really hard? Do you believe that God can handle it?
  4. Do you live like God is bigger than your circumstances? What life experiences have helped teach you this?
  5. How does the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 teach where to focus our prayers?
  6. Jeremiah showed trust in God during the siege by purchasing land. Has God ever directed you to do something that seemed hard or foolish during a siege in your life?
  7. If you know that God has done impossible things in your life, are you ready and willing to proclaim that to the people around you? How will you do this
  8. Jeremiah’s land purchase was a promise of God’s redemption to come. Is there some moment in your story with God that points towards Jesus redemptive work?

Apply it:

  • Spend time writing a prayer like Jeremiah’s that has no requests or question marks.
  • This week share with a friend or family member the impossible things God has done for you.
  • Around the dinner table this week share with your kids/spouse why you trust God.

Spend time praying for and with each other. (If you are comfortable allow moments of silence to linger to hear from God).
