Do you find joy in what you do?

Do you find joy in what you do?

Last week we began searching for joy. One of the places we often try to find joy is in what we do. The problem is that joy can be fleeting and even hard to find when it is linked to our success.

After I graduated from college I got my first full-time career type job. I was so excited as I walked into work on that first day. I was filled with joy as I looked forward to a successful career with my new employer.

The excitement and joy that I felt that first day didn’t last though. Soon I was dreading the very thing that had brought me joy. I had found success, but it didn’t bring me the joy that I’d expected. Has that ever happened to you?

Last week we started a new series in which we are examining the book of Philippians and discovering what it has to say about joy. One of the key themes that the author speaks about is what true success looks like and how if we will look at what we do differently we can discover lasting joy.

This week Pastor Daniel continues our search for joy by looking at Philippians 1:12-26. I hope you’ll join us as Daniel looks at a passage in which the Apostle Paul begins to redefine success by looking at his current situation differently.

Peace be with you,

Pastor Kirk
