Did you watch that game?

Did you watch the western final last fall?  You know, that game where it seemed like the Riders just couldn’t get across the goal line?  Victory was in sight, but it was like there was a barrier keeping them from scoring the touchdown we desperately needed.   Sometimes I feel a lot like I imagine the Riders must have felt in that game.  Sometimes in life it can feel like there’s some sort of barrier holding me back, keeping me stuck right where I am.  Have you ever felt like that?

A few weeks ago, we started a new teaching series called “Greater Than”. We are exploring the life into which Jesus is inviting us, a life filled with his presence, where everything we hear about in the New Testament is normal in our lives today.  In our pursuit of this “Greater Than” life and becoming what Jesus envisions, there are going to be times when it feels like something is holding us back.  There are times when we can see the life Jesus is calling us to, but there is something blocking us.  Maybe you feel like that right now?

This weekend as we continue our series, we are going to look at the story of a man who had hit a barrier in his life, until he met Jesus.  Together we are going to look at John 5:1-15 and the story of a man who met Jesus and broke through the barriers to experience the “Greater Than” life that Jesus envisioned for him.  I hope you’ll join us this Sunday and discover that a barrier doesn’t have to block you from the “Greater Than,” if you’ll listen to Jesus.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Kirk
