Read: Luke 6:17-26
Big Idea: Jesus invites you to see things differently. Jesus invites us to experience a brand new worldview. Jesus invites you to take a close look at yourself and see what you are missing, because you just might be missing God.
Getting to Know Each Other (Start Here):
Going Deeper:
- Have you ever had a moment of clarity? What was it like? Describe it.
- Our heart follows what our focus is. Where is your focus in life? Work? Money? People? Jesus?
- Have you ever invited Jesus to disrupt your comfort and help you to change in any area of your life?
- What do you think it means for us in Canada that Jesus says, “Blessed are those who are poor?” How do we respond to this with a new world view?
- Will people hate us all the time when we share the Truth about Jesus? Will people only like us when we aren’t being Christ-like? What is Jesus actually saying?
- If you think back to a time of brokenness in your life, at that moment how would you have described that period? How would you describe that period now? How has your perspective shifted?
- Kirk said in his message that Jesus uses discomfort to change us and lead us into a deeper relationship with Him. Are there areas in your life where you are running from discomfort?
Apply it:
- Listening Prayer — Read Psalm 42 and Listen: Are you hungry? are you concerned? What does Jesus have to say?
- Talk with a friend — ask them what does spiritual hunger looks like in your life? How do you cultivate concern for the lost? How do you share the truth?
Spend time praying for and with each other. (If you are comfortable allow moments of silence to linger to hear from God
