What is a triumph and what does it look like? Is there a specific image that comes to mind when you think of triumph?
Does triumph look like sinking a long putt to beat your buddy at golf?
Does triumph look like the Riders winning the Grey Cup?
Does triumph look like getting the highest mark in the class or beating out everyone to get the job?
Does triumph look like someone you love standing in the Cancer Survivor Garden at the Pasqua Hospital?
Or does triumph look like a car or motorcycle? (that’s what Google thinks of when you ask what triumph looks like)
What does triumph look like to you? Over the next week, we are going to look at three images of triumph from the Gospel of Luke. Triumph doesn’t look anything like the list above (sorry Google). From these three images of Jesus, we are going to discover what triumph really looks like and how to live every day in triumph.
This Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week when we celebrate a triumph that looks very different than images that often come to mind when we think of triumph. This Sunday Pastor Colin will speak about the triumphant entry of Christ. On Good Friday Pastor Shauna will speak of the triumph of the cross. I’ll wrap up our look at triumph by exploring the triumph of the tomb. I hope you’ll join us online or in-person for these worship gatherings as we discover how to live every day in triumph because with Jesus every day is a triumphant day.
See you soon,
Pastor Kirk
