What’s the first thing you do when you meet someone? When I meet someone for the first time, I begin to ask them questions:
- Where do you live?
- Where are you from?
- What do you do for a living?
- What do you like to do?
- Do you know…?
I ask these questions because I want to find out about the person I’m talking to. I want to hear their story. Do you ask similar questions? Do you like to listen to stories?
Jesus was a masterful storyteller. Jesus used his story and other stories to help the people he encountered to enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus’ stories were and still are powerful. Did you know that your story also has power? Did you know that your story has the power to introduce someone to the Kingdom of God?
This Sunday, as we continue our series, “Everyday Rhythms”, we are going to explore the power of stories. If you’ve been living out the BLESS practices in your everyday rhythms, then everything you have been doing to bless the people around you over the past six weeks has led to this point. When we begin with prayer, listen with care, eat together and serve with love it opens the door for us to share our stories. I hope you’ll join us this weekend as we discover together that you bless people when you share your story.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Kirk
