Group Discussion Guide – Everyday Rhythms – Serve With Love

Everyday Rhythms
Serve With Love

Pastor Colin, March 7, 2021

Read: Mark 7:31-37, Luke 22:24-30, Matt 20:24-28

Big Idea:    We Bless people when we serve them at their point of need.

Getting to Know Each Other (Start Here):

  • Do you have a strange talent or special ability?

Going Deeper:

  1. Has God given you creative ideas to serve people during Covid? Share your ideas with the group so we can all be inspired.
  2. Do you have a go to way of serving people? What is it? Does it always meet the person’s need?
  3. How and when has Jesus met you at your point of need?
  4. Jesus saw the people around him differently, how do we see people like Jesus, as representations of him all around us?
  5. Can you recall a time when you felt prompted by Holy Spirit to do an act of kindness for someone, and the act revealed that person’s real need?
  6. Have you ever tried to serve someone only to realize that you missed their actual need entirely?
  7. What could you do to serve someone in Word, Action or Gift this week? Brainstorms together to encourage each other.
  8. Why should we serve for Jesus and not for our own credit and glory?  Do we want credit too? Why?

Apply it:

B.L.E.S.S. Journal

    • Write BLESS down the left hand side
    • Write down the needs that you know of. Also write down how you can serve people at their point of need.
    • Chat around the supper table about how you served someone today.

Spend time praying for and with each other. (If you are comfortable allow moments of silence to linger to hear from God).
