Do you have a rhythm to your day?

Many of us have a rhythm to our day, a set of activities and an order of things we do every day – from brushing our teeth or having that first cup of coffee, to watching Jimmy Fallon or reading a book before we fall asleep. We all have things we do every day, a rhythm that we follow.

My days and my weeks have a rhythm to them.  I usually wake up around 6:00 to the sound of the dog wanting to go out. I take a shower, read Scripture and pray, drink my morning smoothie, check my email and head to the office for 8. Monday is sermonwriting day. On Tuesday I have one-on-one appointments and team meetings, followed by group teaching in the evening. On Wednesday I’m with the Moose Jaw church, and Thursday I do sermon research and then meet with various people in the afternoon and evening. Friday is the day I catch up on administrative tasks and details, and Saturday I enjoy as sabbath. And Sundays…well, I think you know what I do.  I have a regular rhythm to my days; I’m sure you do, too.

What are your everyday rhythms? Have you ever thought about them? Did you know that your everyday rhythms have power?  Simple things that we do every day can make a huge difference in our lives and the lives of the people around us. Your everyday rhythms, when done in Jesus’ name, have the power to change the world!

This week we are starting a new series called Everyday Rhythms. In this series we’ll be exploring 5 simple ways you and I can change the world – five simple changes you can make to your everyday rhythms in order to bless the people around you and help them encounter Jesus.  I hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we kick off our series by looking at Genesis 12:1-3 which holds a promise and a purpose, given a long time ago, that still applies to us today.  Together we are going to discover that we are meant to bless.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Kirk
