As a pastoral couple who live a province or two away from family, Kristi and I have spent our share of Christmas mornings away from family. In fact, there have been a couple of times that we did not see family in person at all. In other words, I understand the pain that is setting in and the deep sense of loss that you are coming to grips with this year as our newest rounds of restrictions are implemented.
This Sunday we are going to look at a story of people coming together, something we are not able to do in 2020.
I want to write a blessing to you because of God’s love and the blessing that is ours because of that first Christmas. The Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and give you rest. May the Lord go before you, protect you and be with you whatever happens. May God grant you His peace that surpasses understanding and guards your heart and mind. May the joy of the Lord be your strength in the face of trials and loneliness. May the Lord be your hope in all things and through all things. May God’s love at Christmas draw you to Himself and to the feet of Jesus. May this be the best Christmas ever for you as you pass on to others blessings which you have first received from Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas and be blessed!
This December we are exploring what makes a great Christmas and how, even in the midst of a pandemic, this could be the best Christmas ever. I hope you’ll join us this coming Sunday as we look at the story of Mary in Luke 1:57-80 and together discover how God’s love is a blessing found in community.
See you Sunday,
Pastor Colin
