Scripture: Revelation 2:1-7

Summary: The Christ-centered life is marked by Christ-like love. So let your first response be love.

Checking In:

Galatians 6:2 – Bear one another’s burdens: Ask each other how you are doing and listen to what is happening.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 – Encourage one another: Speak the hope of Christ to one another. Encourage each other.

Ephesians 6:18 – Pray for one another: Spend time praying for one another.

Going Deeper:

  1. What do you think that Living Hope is known for in the wider community of Regina?
  2. Does this meet Jesus desire for what His followers are known for? (John 13:34-35)
  3. Read Revelation 2:1-7; what is the potential consequence for the church in Ephesus? What is the significance of it? What was the church doing right?
  4. Praxis is the place where belief, thought and behavior combine. So, what does it look like when thought and behavior are not combined with belief?
  5. Have you had someone tell you something that you did not want to hear? Maybe it was about Christianity or the church.
  6. What about when God tells you something you don’t want to hear? How do you respond and/or how do you work towards obedience in belief, thought and behavior?

Apply It:

Reflect: Look back on the last to months with social distancing. Are there any actions or thoughts that you need to submit to God?

Repent: Spend time reading Psalm 32 and repent of anything that you need to. Turn from it to a fuller view of God.

Redo: Return to Christ and His love. Let it be the goal of your repentance and redo what you did when you first began a relationship with Him.
