1. Share a story of anticipation with a positive or negative ending.

Discussion:

1. The triumphal entry story is a story of anticipating King Jesus overpowering his enemy. But not in the way the Israelites think.
   1. What is different about what Jesus is trying to accomplish versus what the Israelites had pictured?
   1. In what ways do you see people trying to live into their version of a good life that is different than Jesus’ version of a good life?
2. Pastor Tim mentioned control as something that steals anticipation. What areas of your life do you struggle to give control to God? Think about what makes you angry, annoyed, anxious, or apathetic?

Prayer:

• Take a little longer to pray this week.
• Pray through whatever was just shared about control and giving control over to Jesus.
• Easter is this coming Sunday so take a moment of silence. Ask God to reveal to each person who doesn’t know Jesus that they should invite to church. After that moment of silence, have each one share with the group what Holy Spirit said to them personally. Write the names down. Take another moment of silence to ask God how/when/where to invite the people named. After a moment, get the group to share what Holy Spirit said. Write this down also.  Then pray over these names and opportunities.
• Pray for all of the pastoral staff and volunteers who are serving on Easter Sunday.
• End with a general pray of thanks to God.
