Do you like September?

I don’t know about you, but I find September really stressful.  Actually I find September and October to be some of the most stressful times in the year.  So, while I love the beauty of the leaves changing colours and the coolness of the fall air in September, I can honestly say that it isn’t one of my favourite months.

From the lazy days of summer we move into the bustle of September as the kids go back to school and life returns to the routine.  The problem is that all the things we put off because of summer vacation are still waiting for us back in the office when we return.  On top of that, with the kids returning to school you know that soon the requests for payment of school fees, dance fees, sport fees, just because fees, will start pouring in.  Our calendars go from empty to overloaded, and our bank accounts go from full to empty in September.  Sounds like a perfect recipe for trouble, doesn’t it?  I haven’t always coped with the challenges of September very well. How about you?

How we deal with the stress, troubles and challenges in life matters all year round, not just in September.Coping with the challenges of September and all of life has a big impact on who we are and who we are becoming.  How are you doing with the challenges in your life right now?

In week two of our ‘Becoming’ series we are going to take a look at how to deal with the challenges life may throw at us.  As we explore James 1:2-18 this week we are going to discover that challenges are really an opportunity for us to become the person we were created to be.  I hope you’ll join us this coming Sunday as we continue exploring how to become what Jesus envisions.
